Family Care
Our Family Care Support program is designed to provide compassionate and sensitive care to families considering organ donation. Our team of trained Family Support Coaches offers guidance and support to families throughout the donation process, ensuring that the decision to donate is informed and supported. This includes providing a comprehensive explanation of brain death in a way that helps them understand and accept this confusing concept, explaining the medical procedures involved in donation, discussing any concerns or questions that the family may have, and helping families navigate any complex problems that may arise during the donation process, such as issues related to medical ethics, legal requirements, and confidentiality. We meet families where they are to help guide them to a place where they can make appropriate and informed decisions.
Surgical Organ Recovery
Our Surgical Recovery Coordinators (SRC) are dedicated specialists who ensure the precise and aseptic recovery of donated organs and tissues for transplantation and research. Working primarily in the operating room, they assist surgeons and hospital staff by providing essential resources and guidance throughout the organ recovery process. SRCs meticulously oversee the preservation, packaging, and delivery of recovered organs, coordinating with multiple surgical teams to ensure efficiency within the critical time window. They ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining the highest standards of care throughout the recovery process.
Organ Operation
Our Organ Recovery Coordinators are dedicated to facilitating the organ donation and transplantation process. With their extensive knowledge and expertise, they collaborate closely with medical personnel to ensure a seamless and efficient procurement and transplantation of organs, optimizing the likelihood of a successful transplant. All of our Organ Recovery Coordinators are Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinators, further showcasing their dedication to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and effective communication throughout the entire process.
Hospital Training
Our Hospital Development Coordinators play a critical role in bridging the gap between hospitals and OPOs. They act as a vital link between the hospital staff and OPO, facilitating educational programs and training for hospital staff members, devising policies and procedures, and implementing effective strategies to increase referrals and improve performance outcomes. Our coordinators are dedicated to fostering a strong relationship with hospitals to ensure that OPOs can execute their mission of saving lives through organ donation.
Nursing
We provide highly experienced registered nursing staff to OPOs with recovery centers who are well-versed in both critical and intensive care, as well as the specialized care involved with organ donation. Our team of registered nurses are not only passionate about providing highly skilled medical care, but they also prioritize treating patients with compassion, dignity and empathy.
Referral Response Coordinating
Our Referral Response Coordinators (RRCs) facilitate the organ donation and transplantation process by expertly managing all referral-related activities. They identify potential donors, conduct onsite evaluations, and ensure accurate and timely documentation. RRCs handle responses to both new and ongoing referrals, dispatching clinical and non-clinical staff as needed. They maintain consistent communication internally and with external partners, ensuring a seamless process. Additionally, RRCs support post-case outcome discussions, contributing to the effective management of each referral.
